black cohosh - actaea racemosa
how to grow:
I bought plants. They are perennials and are hardy in US hardy zones 3-8.
medicinal properties:
It is a good herb for women. It is used for menstrual problems.
But black cohosh can also help with all nervous conditions.
It is said to help with rheumatic conditions.
And it is said to be a strong insect repellant.
It might even help with whooping cough and can be beneficial with tinnitus.
cautions and possible side effects:
Do not take this herb during pregnancy or breast feeding.
You should also not use this herb for a long time period (max. 6 months).
