how to grow:
Astilbes are perennial plants that are hardy in US zones 4 - 8. I bought some plants and planted them in a spot that has morning sun but shade in the afternoon. They like soils that are always a bit moist. They are very beautiful pink flowers that bloom in our garden in June and July.
medicinal properties:
Astilbes have traditionally been used to treat ulcers, bleeding during child birth, inflammation, body ache, diarrhea, and dysentery.
cautions and possible side effects:
Astilbe plants are said to be save to eat.
